A little – or a lot – of rain couldn’t dampen the fun at this elegant central NC wedding at Deercroft Country Club outside Laurinburg, North Carolina.

The original plan was for the intimate wedding ceremony to be held in Morgan’s parent’s backyard overlooking the lake at Deercroft but, well, Mother Nature had other plans. I don’t know what it is this year, but so far this Spring it seems like it has wanted to rain almost every weekend! The whole week will go by nice and sunny and then BAM rain on Saturday. Maybe Mother Nature is going through a bad break up?

Regardless, Morgan decided to look on the bright side since rain is supposed to be good luck on your wedding day (And a central NC wedding in the Spring has a 50/50 chance of rain anyway it seems!)

They ended up making the difficult decision to move the ceremony and reception into the Country Club clubhouse the morning of the wedding. The stunning floral pillars on either side of the altar were the perfect accent to still give that garden party vibe that was so important to Morgan. The subdued green and white color palette was absolutely gorgeous and I loved all of the thoughtful details like the hand flocked edges on the place cards and menus.

Morgan and Tim are such a fun couple (you might remember that from their Pinehurst Arboretum engagement session) and it really showed during their day.

The other thing that was hugely apparent was their love for their family. Morgan and Tim incorporated several family heirlooms into their wedding and went out of their way to make sure that their family members were included and appreciated. Morgan’s engagement ring was an heirloom piece and she wore it with her mother’s bracelet. We made sure to get special photos of all of the pieces to commemorate the link to her family – especially those who couldn’t be with them.
