305 Trackside Southern Pines Wedding – Chris + Connie

Chris and Connie didn’t plan to have a wedding at 305 Trackside…

In fact, until the Wednesday before the wedding the plan was for an outdoor garden wedding at a private residence in Southern Pines. Mother Nature (it seemed) had other plans, but like so many other things for Chris and Connie it just worked out. The weekend of their wedding was the only weekend that 305 Trackside in Southern Pines did not have booked and they were able to move the wedding inside to avoid the forecasted thunderstorms that were going to threaten central North Carolina.

Connie put so much thought and care into planning her wedding photography and her wedding details. The original plan was for a blue and white wedding, but as the wedding planning went along she decided to incorporate some bright pops of color (like those fabulous pink shoes!!!). As a wedding photographer here in central North Carolina I’ve got to say I love it when brides make bold choices. A lot of weddings can start to look the same when you live in a small area, but this wedding was truly one of a kind.

The wedding invitations featured a drawing of the intended venue along with tons of other cute illustrations! Wedding photographer’s dream, right here. One of my favorite things to photograph is the wedding details and I loved having this invitation suite to work with! (And if you were wondering, those cookie from Cookies by Jay ARE as good as they look!)

Connie got ready at the newly renovated Jefferson Inn in Downton Southern Pines. The Jeff now features contactless check-in a la Airbnb, and refreshed rooms. The leather sofas in the getting ready room were the perfect complement to the furniture rentals that Connie chose for the reception, too!

Chris and Connie were officially married in January at her father’s bedside in the hospital before he passed away. He told Connie that whenever she saw a black and white bird that would be him checkin up on her. Pam at Hollyfield Designs placed the bird in the arbor at the altar so that Connie would be able to see it when she turned to face Chris to say her vows. That way even though her father couldn’t be there, he could be watching over her during the ceremony.

One of the best things about having a 305 Trackside Southern Pines wedding is the proximity to the train tracks! The tracks are one of my favorite spots in Southern Pines for the couples portraits and the light at golden hour never disappoints.
