I am CrossFit – Anna

 

My favorite thing about CrossFit is how “hard” is always relative. When I started four years ago, hard was doing just one push up, or just holding on to the pull up bar without my hands giving out. Now, hard for me is being so close to a muscle up that I can picture myself at the top of the rings, but I am not quite there! This is also why I love being a CrossFit coach. I love being a part of someone’s journey when they realize they have to push themselves for something else difficult, because they have improved so much on what was once a challenge.

 

My favorite lift is the clean and jerk. It is pretty amazing to be picking up something that weighs more than me, and putting it over my head. Other than that, I love the wacky movements like GHD situps, one arm snatches, wall climbs, and atlas stone lifts.

 

If I summed up what I think about CrossFit in 5 words it would be ” Never satisfied, but always happy”. I am constantly striving to be better and can be really hard on myself. However, CrossFit has changed my perception of beauty and self worth. I am proud of myself, not afraid of scales, and confident that I am always forging ahead in the right direction.
