Frankie and Shabana’s Irish – Indian fashion wedding by NC Wedding Photographer Mollie Tobias
Frankie and Shabana’s wedding at Oatlands Plantation and Garden was an energetic mash up of Frankie’s Irish family – many of whom travelled from Ireland for the wedding – and Shabana’s Indian relatives. I loved how the wedding was full of splashes of bright colors against the lovely natural beauty of Oatlands.
We started the day getting ready in an onsite cottage. The cottage was full of natural sunlight and interesting details like the wall mural of Oatlands in the dining room.
After everyone was dressed and ready we headed up to the greenhouse for the first look. There weren’t any plants in the greenhouse at that time of year, but the exposed brick is still a beautiful backdrop for photos!
Shabana and Frankie held their wedding ceremony in the upper garden at Oatlands as opposed to the lower ceremony site and I am always happy to photograph here.
After the ceremony the guests were treated to a cocktail hour in the lush gardens while we snuck off for some more photos. As always, Oatlands doesn’t dissapoint.
The reception was held in the permanent tent behind the greenhouse and after the entrances, first dance, and toasts we were all treated to a performance by George Mason’s fusion dance team, Mason Ke Rang. This was, Shabana joked in her introduction, her way of bringing a little more “brown” to the wedding.
I hope you all enjoy!
