This week’s stop on our tour of Virginia rustic winery wedding venues is Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Virginia.Early Mountain Vineyards is situated amoung rolling hills and fields and looks out towards the Shenandoah Mountains in the distance.  The suroundings make it seem much more rustic than it’s location would dictate.

When you first enter the main building of Early Mountain Vineyards you are greeted by the bright, cheerful tasting room.  Comfortable furniture is scattered throughout the large space where you can relax while and taste wine or order food from their kitchen.The cream and orange color palette is nuetral and versatile, while still giving the space some personality.

The gallery connects the tasting room with the main event hall.  The gallery is spacious enough to hold a moderate sized cocktail hour.

The main Event Hall at Early Mountain Vineyards is one of my all time favorite ballrooms for weddings.  I love how the wood and painted brick give the space an airy feel and add texture and interest while remaining nuetral enough to allow brides to project their own vision onto the space.  The space is so lovely that decor can be kept to a minimum, which simplifies floral design and decor immensely.

Just steps from the Event Hall outside is the patio.  This paved space offers a lovely open air location for drinks or even dancing al fresco under the stars.

Off the rear of the Early Mountain Vineyards tasting room is another patio that is covered to provide shade on hot summer days and also has an outdoor fireplace to keep things cozy in the cooler Fall evenings.

The back patio looks out over the lawn with views of rolling hills and nearby mountains.

Just up the road from the vineyards is the charming guest cottage that can be rented as an on-site bridal suite.

The Cottage at Early Mountain Vineyards is cozy and light, the perfect place to relax with your bridesmaid’s before your wedding and enjoy a light mimosa brunch.
