Small, intimate weddings are fun for me to photograph because there is always so much excitement and emotion to capture! Jackie and Dave’s downtown Southern Pines wedding was no different.
It started with a text message early in the week. “What’s your availability this weekend?”
Messages like that always feel like a present about to be opened to me.
“I’m free Friday and Sunday. What’s going on?”
“Oh, nothing. Just getting married.”
That is paraphrasing the conversation slightly, but that was the gist. I was so excited to be able to be a part of Jackie’s Southern Pines wedding!
Jackie and Dave were married in a very small private ceremony at Community Congregational Church in downtown Southern Pines. This church is such a pleasure to photograph in. It is bright and airy and has lovely stained glass windows and wood beamed ceilings. Once you step outside you are right in the very heart of Southern Pines which allowed us to take photos at the church, the Jefferson Inn next door, the Sunrise theater, and the train tracks all in a short amount of time. I was only photographing for two hours, but we still managed to get so many great images of the wedding and of Jackie and Dave.
I have known Jackie for years and she is such a ray of sunshine. Always out there busting her butt with a smile on her face, which I really admire. From what I’ve seen, Dave looks like a perfect match for her.
Together they are relaxed and of course very talkative and fun!
