Colleen + Hugh’s Fair Barn Wedding in Pinehurst

I always love a Fair Barn wedding in Pinehurst for several reasons – all of which were showcased with Colleen and Hugh’s wedding.

First, since the Fair Barn is such a generous size it allows lots of options for layout. This is especially important if you need a rain plan! Thankfully we ended up not needing to use the rain plan for this Fair barn wedding in Pinehurst but it is always nice to know that you have a solid back-up plan in place.

During the getting ready time the weather was looking questionable, but it went our way in the end!

Colleen incorporated several personal touches into her getting ready routine including wearing her grandmother’s signature scent for the wedding.

The second reason that I love photographing weddings at the Fair Barn, I love the versatility of having both indoor and outdoor spaces available. Colleen and Hugh needed the entire inside space for seating (there were 250 guests) so having the outdoor patio for the cocktail hour and extra mingling space was great.

They did not utilize the getting ready area at the Fair Barn since the ceremony was being held at the Village Chapel in Pinehurst, but rather got ready at Colleen’s parent’s. I’m not sure that they planned it, but the color scheme coordinated perfectly 😉

The third reason the Fair Barn is great is because the Fair Barn has a full catering kitchen (which not every wedding venue in the Pinehurst / Southern Pines area has). This allowed the full plated dinner to be served very efficiently leaving us lots of time for dancing with Emerald Empire Band! Colleen and Hugh were also able to have a surprise late night ice cream snack from Ben’s Ice Cream with plenty of space to spare in the industrial freezers.

You gotta love when a bride prioritizes snacks!

I think that maybe my favorite part of Colleen + Hugh’s Fair Barn wedding in Pinehurst though was how much FUN they had!!! Colleen has a big personality and it was on full display throughout the night. Colleen and Hugh complement each other so well and you could really see it in how they interacted during the course of the evening.
