Haley and Dustin’s Sanford wedding was held at Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church earlier this month. They made the tough choice to forgo the wedding reception for now, but were still able to come up with some creative ways to include their favorite traditions and their friends and family for their Sanford wedding.
Haley and Dustin grew up together since third grade and he actually asked her our several times in high school, though Haley put him off until the summer after they graduated. They went on their first date the day before they were both set to start classes at Central Carolina Community College. They had dinner at a Japanese restaurant and went shopping for school supplies and they’ve been inseparable pretty much ever since.
When it came time to propose Dustin knew that Haley wanted her family to be there for the proposal. He worked with her family to plan a surprise proposal on her grandpa’s birthday. Her brother was also having his baby shower that day so they used that as an excuse to get the whole family together before Dustin made a speech, called Haley up to the center of the room and got down on one knee.
For their engagement photos we walked around downtown Sanford near the Train House and even had a chance to take some photos with their puppy (you can see the full session here).
For Haley’s bridal session we took her portraits at Hawkins House (I’ll be sharing these soon!)
I feel like getting to know her I’ve also gotten a little tour of Sanford 🙂
Haley and the girls got ready at an airbnb in Sanford that is a converted dairy barn. It was such a neat location for them to stay and get prepared for the wedding!
Haley and Dustin decided not to have the reception they had originally planned, but Haley still wanted to be able to have her first dance, father daughter dance and cake cutting. They decided to have a short outdoor cocktail after the ceremony to greet guests and then to have the dances and cake cutting on the church porch where the guests could all look on from a safe distance. After the cake cutting guests stayed enjoy their cake, or took it to go while we went off to take their portraits.
Haley looked absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to share the full gallery with her soon 🙂
