I am CrossFit – Crystal

 

 

My favorite thing about Crossfit is the challenge it presents both physically and mentally. When I was younger I shied away from group sports thinking they were not for me. Crossfit has helped me tap into a side of me I didn’t know I had.

 

I might not put up the biggest numbers or fastest times, but I show up, dig deep, and shut down that little negative voice in my head. It’s the best feeling to challenge yourself and do things that you once thought you couldn’t. Crossfit gives me that opportunity every time I walk through the door.

 

I love the social aspect too… during a smoker wod I might feel the urge to slow down and quit, but I look around and see my buddies suffering right along with me and it motivates me to push on! I can’t imagine my life without it. I’ve met some of my best friends here. I walked into this box looking to get in shape and found so much more!

 

I would have to say that clean and jerk, squats, kettlebell work and running are my favorite crossfit movements!

 

When I think of crossfit the 5 words that come to mind are intense, challenging, inspiring, fun…anything but boring!

 

I would say that my most proud moment was when I got my first muscle up! I am usually hard on myself, but when I got that I was like… yes, I can do this!
