Last night I taught a photography class for the Manassas Park Community Center at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center Air and Space Museum.

All of the students had assignments while we were at the museum – to focus on capturing one element of composition; color, shape, texture, scale, etc.

I gave myself the assignment to focus on lines.Can you tell which part of the museum is my favorite?

Giving yourself mini assignments help to bring the focus back to the basic fundementals of design and photography and makes us better photographers no matter what subject we may go on to photograph.
