When planning the concept for this styled shoot of a rustic wedding at Morais Vineyards in Culpeper, VA I wanted to focus on a bride with an edgy vibe who still dreamed of a romantic winery wedding.
I really love that subtle push of hard and soft and tried hard to incorporate that into the shoot while still keeping the details and overall feel elegant and feminine.

Having your wedding at Morais is perfect for the couple who loves old world charm and travel, but wants to keep their wedding close to home.
The Italianate styling of the main hall at Morais is such a simple, classic backdrop for cocktail hours and wedding portraits.
I did manage to subtly sneak a little skull vase into the decor 🙂
The florals by Shelley’s Floral did such a great job of pulling the blush and serenity color scheme together.
Blush and sparkle are just meant to be together in my opinion.
This headpiece and these shoes from Blush Bridal were the perfect accent and gave just enough glitter to our bridal details.
This was the first wedding that I tried my hand at calligraphy. It is a hobby that I have been persuing in my (scarce) free time.
I may be a little biased, but I love these vows.
This is what I would have wanted someone to write for me.
The vows read:
“Today I vow to choose you, on this day and every day to come.
I vow to love you in all of your complexity; to appreciate the beauty of your uniqueness.
I promise to protect you from the ills of this world; to always keep you safe in my arms.
I vow to honor your wild soul; to keep you wild and free to always be yourself.
Today, tomorrow, always and forever.”
You have to be paying attention, but we actually used two gorgeous gowns from Blush Bridal Boutique for this shoot.
We had only planned on using one, but they were both so beautiful that we just couldn’t choose!
Let’s just take a second to talk about how great our couple looks, can we?
Yisell’s hair and make-up were the perfect mixture of subtle and dramatic. I love the classic french twist and the smoky eyes.
I gave Misty of Girl Meets Cake very little direction when it came to the cake and I absolutely love what she came up with!
The gold sparkle table linens from Main Street Linens made the cake look even more amazing.
