I have known Rachel and Cameron for some time as frieds and I was thrilled when they announced that they would be getting married and asked me to be their wedding photographer.  Both had been married before and they were excited to be able to meld their “Modern Family” into a big happy whole at last.  Rachel is amazingly crafty and between her, her mother, and her attendants they made almost every one of the details that you see.  Rachel arranged her own flowers and made the signs that were scattered throughout the venue.  Her mother made all of the burlap pillows by hand.  The sign by the front door lists all of the cities that guests travelled from and how may miles they came.   This wedding was just full of special touches.

Speaches at weddings can be a little hit or miss, but the groom gave the most touching speach that I have ever heard at a wedding.  He tells it much better than I do, I wish you could have been there to hear it from him.  He talked about how he and Rachel met online.  He had a profile up for some time and while he had seen her profile and thought she was beautiful he had been to shy to contact her.  Just as he was about to take his profile down he got a message from Rachel saying that she had been looking at his profile for awhile and even though he didn’t even have a photo to go with it she decided to take a chance and wanted to meet him.

This wedding was also full of great people.  The best man, who was deployed overseas, taped his speach on his computer camera and sent it in.  They had a big blowup projector screen and played his message for the couple so that he could be a part of the wedding even though he couldn’t be there with them.  The ceremony was offciated by a friend of the couple’s who went online and got his license specifically to be able to marry them. (It is his hand you see doing the fist pump behind the couple’s heads as they were kissing.)

The sign behind the couple at the ceremony sums it up.  It says, “Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives you a fairy tale.”

Rachel and Cameron, I am so happy for you.  I just know that you will be happy together for many years to come.  Congratulations!
