Jake and Courtney’s Piedmont Club rustic Southern Wedding in Haymarket, Virginia had a distinct Scottish twist. The bride’s family all travelled in from Great Britain for the eventCourtney and Jake first met through a mutual friend. On their first date he was super nervous and she was excited but anxious because she really wanted him to like her. They met at Starbucks for coffee and then went to get ice cream – even though it was November and freezing cold. As they walked down by the water they knew that this was something special
Courtney’s beaded gown from Labella Bridal Boutique fit her like a glove!
Jake
Jake proposed to Courtney while they were hiking at a Civil War site in Leesylvania. Once again, they were walking by the water when he got down on one knee and asked Courtney to be his wife. “His proposal,” Courtney said “was so simple and unforgetable.”
Courtney and Jake brought their love of the outdoors into their wedding through their details, like this custom ring ring box etched with two deer kissing. The deer also make an appearance on their cake topper!
Courtney kept their color palette simple focusing on navy and white. The thistles that were incorporated into the flowers by Twinbrook Floral Design gave the florals a personal touch.
Jake and Courtney’s simple, elegant cake was created by Edibles Incredible (my favorite cake place in Northern Virginia).
The Piedmont Club has several lovely backdrops for photos including this rustic wooden bridge on the golf course. The day was beautiful and sunny with temps in the 50’s. You never would have guessed that a few weeks later we would be buried under feet of snow!
The front porch area at the Piedmont Club is the perfect backdrop for some groom’s portraits. Jake seemed so cool and relaxed leading up to the ceremony.
Trish Strickland Langley of My Mobile Salon ensured that Courtney and her bridesmaids all looked stunning.
What part of her Piedmont Club rustic southern wedding was the most important to Courtney?
Having all of her friends and family from over seas meet Jake’s family for the first time and finally be all together in one place. The toasts were an emotional event for everyone there even though the Maid of Honor vowed to keep her toast short “since you probably can’t understand most of what I’m saying anyway.” The whole wedding was filled with the greatest accents.
