An Old House Vineyards wedding has a lot going for it.
Old House winery is just minutes outside Culpeper, Virginia, the vineyard is beautiful (as you can see!), and the venue has one of my favorite reception pavillions – right on the pond overlooking the sunset.
The drive is lined by lanterns atop wine barrels and winds through the picturesque vineyards. Once you arrive, you are greeted by the historic home which houses the getting ready areas, the wine tasting room, and an outdoor patio that serves brick oven pizzas. Behind the main house is the newly completed distillery building, perfect for the men to relax prior to the wedding. The oversize chess board in front of the house provides a touch of whimsy and entertainment for your guests – young or old alike.
Down by the pond is the reception venue at Old House Vineyards; the Pavillion.
The pavillion is made of beautiful weathered wood on the outside and has screened windows on three sides that provide stunning views across the property.
The inside of the pavillion is a nuetral wood, which makes a perfect natural backdrop for your wedding decor and complements any color scheme.
The island in the center of the pond can accomodate a wedding ceremony of up to 200 people. The walkway over the pond to the island creates a dramatic entrance for the bride as she is highlighted in front of the vineyard as she approaches her new husband.
Another unique feature at Old House Vineyards are the “love locks”.
Couples are encouraged to bring a pad-lock to attach to the chain at the end of the pier on the island near the ceremony site. After securing their lock the couple celebrates their bond by tossing the key into the pond.
Let’s pause here to talk for just a moment about the sunsets at Old House Vinery.
Can you even believe how gorgeous the sun is here? You just can’t beat this amazing golden light!
