Luray Caverns, Virginia Fine Art Photography

I am trying to get out about a little and get firmiliar with all of the sights that my lovely new state of Virginia has to offer.  A couple weeks back we took the Mustang out to Skyline Drive and made a stop at Luray Caverns.  We did, however, make the mistake of going on a holiday weekend which made it a little crowded.  I would love to go back and photograph the caverns again during a less busy time (and with a tripod) but it was a great day trip none the less.  Here are a few of my favorite images.  Both of these images are of Saracen’s Tent.   These deposits, commonly called flowstone, spread laterally coating walls or ceilings.  You can see in the second image how much like cloth these formations appear when the light filters through.  They were a fun to photograph.  The reflecting pool close to the entrance was awe inspiring as well.  It looks fathomlesss, but in reality the water is only a few inches deep.

THANK YOU!

We will be in touch soon.
