While we were planning Jessica and Neal’s rustic Culpeper engagement session I was talking with Jesse about the location where she and Neal got engaged. She described a hilltop with views of the Shenandoah mountains and Old Rag.
“Perfect,” I said. “I’ll meet you there.”
There was a giggle on the other end of the line and Jessica said, “You’d better ride with us.”
Once I showed up at our meeting spot and Neal pulled up in his huge work truck I knew exactly what she was talking about. After hefting myself into the back seat (and barely making it!) we were off on our adventure. Jessica and Neal decided to shoot their engagement session on the farm where Neal works. The farm is just outside Culpeper and it was the perfect backdrop for this outdoorsy couple.
This old barn was one of several on the property. We climbed inside to find goreous light streaming through the window. Of course, I couldn’t leave it at that so we climbed up into the loft for a few more pictures.
This is the spot where Neal proposed. How beautiful is this?
When it was time to pop the question Neal wanted to surprise Jessica so he blindfolded her and let her out to his truck. He didn’t want her to know where they were going so he drove around a bit before heading to this spot.
Well, his plan backfired a bit because the combination of the movement of the car and the blidfold made Jessica motion sick! As soon as she felt the ruts in the road leading up to the field she knew exactly where they were.
