Jenny and Kyle are such a sweet couple!
One of the main reasons that I love couples photography is that after we get married (and especially after you have children) it gets so much harder to spend quality time together as a couple.
A Couple’s session – or an anniversary photo session – is such a great way for you to bond as a couple and let go and have some fun.
Which is exactly what we did in this fun grown-up cake smash session!
We made sure to take a few quick portraits of Kyle and Jenny before we smothered them with cake 🙂
How cute is that dress?
These two were a perfect example of how to coordinate not match when dressing for couples photography.

After we had some nice portraits of the two of them we proceeded to the main event – the cake smashing!
They brought a coconut cake – which aside from coconut white glazed donuts is one of my favorite things ever – and we proceeded to get messy.
Smashing a cake in your spouse’s face – as some of you might know from your wedding – can be really fun!
It was also incredibly funny to watch them try to be super gentle while smearing cake on each other’s faces.
They got past that eventually of course!
Then they got to bring the rest of the cake home to their kids, which probably made everyone’s day.
As it turns out, grown ups are actually much better cake smashers than their toddler counterparts.
Most of my 1 year old sessions aren’t really sure what to do with the cake, which is comical in a whole other way 🙂
Details of the 2016 birthday sessions will be announced on the blog very, very soon so be sure to watch my Facebook and Instagram feeds for the link to the blog post with all the particulars or sign up for my newsletter list to make sure that you do not miss a thing!
