This was my first Highgrove Estate wedding, and let me tell you what, this place is a photographer’s dream!
The house itself is so classic in all the best ways and decorated with such style. Every room in that house would be a stunning backdrop for photos. It’s not often that I have so many backdrops to choose from that we don’t get to use them all, so I can’t wait to go back and do another Highgrove Estate wedding soon!

After Austin proposed at the end of a week long trip to Topsail Beach they couldn’t wait to start planning and get all of their friends and family together for their Highgrove Estate wedding.
When I asked Emily how she wanted her wedding photography to look she told me simple, classic, and bright. Those words perfectly describe the aesthetic that they put together for the wedding. A classic green and white color scheme was accentuated with little pops and surprises – like Emily’s sparkly Keds, modern calligraphy signs, and hints of gold accents sprinkled throughout the details.
Highgrove Estate is located just South of Raleigh in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, but you would never realize that once you step out the back doors of the house onto the terrace. As you look out over the ceremony space you feel like you have been transported to the mountains. The geometric pergolas that cap the ceremony site add the perfect modern touch tot he site. There is a separate building for the reception which also boasts a covered patio with a lovely brick fireplace. This proved clutch to avoid a little late afternoon thunderstorm during the first look and also helped keep everyone cool and dry during the family formal photos!
