Elena has been one of my best friends for years so when she told me that Tony had asked her to marry him I was thrilled. I mean, we all knew that it was coming – eventually so when it finally happened everyone who knew them was overjoyed. Then Elena called me with a dilemma, she wanted me to take do her wedding photography, but she also wanted me as a guest at the wedding. Luckily, I pointed out that as the wedding photographer I get to spend more time with her on her wedding day than a guest ever would so we made the deal that I would do the photos until a set time and then would put the camera down and return as a guest. It worked out perfectly and a great time was had by all.
The ceremony was unique because it took place on our mutual friend Taylor’s roof deck right as the sun was about to go down. Their house is absolutely stunning (you may remember it from here) and was a fantastic backdrop for shooting the details and the ceremony. After the ceremony the wedding moved across the street to the Jefferson Inn in downtown Southern Pines, NC. Elena was busy putting together special touhes for her wedding including hand-made signs, welcome kits that included local honey, water, snacks and Fall treats, and information about local attractions packaged in customized North Carolina tote bags, DIY pillows, and a wide variety of carved pumpkins. A color scheme of bright red, orange, and yellow was the perfect compliment to the Autumn decor of leaves and lanterns. Tony wore his dress blues for the ceremony (Gotta love a man in uniform, right?) and the whole day was perfect.
Congratulations yout two and I wish you all the happiness you can stand for many years to come!
