I consider myself to be a pretty laid back person – despite that one time that my husband convinced MY OWN MOTHER that I am the more high strung of the two of us (totally not true BTW).  When I first met Sarah and Ashton and we started making plans for their Bohemian Brewery wedding I was impressed with how chill a bride Sarah was.

We photographed their engagement session in downtown Warrenton and ended up at a pizza joint for some beers.  It wasn’t until a day or two before the wedding that I realized that I had met my match in Sarah.

I have to be honest, when we were going over the final timeline and I heard her say, “The wedding ceremony is going to be at the park shelter and they don’t take reservations so we are just going to show up and hope no one is there – and that it isn’t raining.” I might have broken out into a cold sweat a little.

Then on the day of the wedding, Sarah got a call that Ashton was going to the emergency room and I thought for sure we were about to have a total wedding day melt down.  Sarah, however, totally kept her cool, went to make sure Ashton was fine (he was) and came back to put her dress on and head off to the ceremony still on schedule.

Fortunately, everything worked out perfectly, just like Sarah knew it would, and they had a beautiful wedding!

The ceremony was at Conway Robinson State Park followed by a reception at Tin Cannon Brewery where Sarah works.  The whole wedding was a family affair.  It was small affair catered by The Whole Ox, where Ashton works.  Sarah and Ashton managed a fun, stylish event with special touches that were meaningful to them as a couple.
