Spring Meadowlark Botanical Garden Wedding – Kelsey and Chase

It is hard to believe that just a few weeks ago it snowed for Kelsey and Chase’s Meadowlark Botanical Garden wedding!

She said that if rain on your wedding day was good luck, snow must be EXTRA good luck 🙂wedding-dress-garden-wedding-tysons-cornergirls-getting-ready-meadowlark-weddingThe girls got ready at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Tysons Corner beforw we headed over to Meadowlark for the first look session.

The bridesmaids all wore the same dress in different pastel, springy shades that matched the garden wedding decor.rustic-wedding-getting-ready-mclean-virginiafirst-look-meadowlark-botanical-gardens-weddingEven though we have had crazy weird weather this year, Meadowlark Botanical gardens did not dissapoint.  These lovely pink trees out front of the reception hall were the perfect backdrop for Kelsey and Chase’s first look.meadowlark-wedding-spring-garden-ceremonymeadowlark-botanical-garden-wedding-first-lookvirginia-wedding-pink-lavendar-peach-floralsOne of my favorite moments from getting ready was when Kelsey walked into the part of the suite where I was photographing the details and exclaimed. “I’m going to have all these pretty detail photos just like the ones on the internet!”

With such delicate details it was a breeze to get her so many great detail photos 🙂

Isn’t Kelsey’s bouquet from Vintage Floral Design to die for?

Gotta love a man who can wear purple and pink!rustic-va-wedding-bridesmaidsvirginia-rustic-wedding-details-invitationvirginia-rustic-wedding-photographymeadowlark-garden-weddings-bridal-partymeadowlark-botanical-garden-wedding-ceremonyThe ceremony for this Meadowlark Botanical Garden wedding had to be moved inside, but thankfully the recption hall is glass on three sides and has a glass ceiling.

There was so much beautiful light streaming in during the ceremony!garden-wedding-herndon-vameadowlark-botanical-garden-wedding-saint-louis-flairKelsey and Chase met in New Orleans, and even though Kelsey swore not to DIY she made these chalkboard frames for the tables.  Each table had the name of a place that was special to the couple and served as the table numbers.meadowlark-wedding-herndon-virginiameadowlark-botanical-garden-vintage-floral-designVA-rustic-wedding-cake-pullAnother fun New Orleans tradition that I had never seen before was a cake pull.

Small charms attached to ribbons (or in this case strings of pearls) are baked into the cake and the single ladies at the wedding are invited to pull a charm from the cake.

Each charm has a meaning or fortune attached to it.spring-garden-wedding-meadowlark-botanical-gardenredbud-wedding-photography-meadowlark-botanical-gardens-weddingrustic-northern-virginia-wedding-photography-meadowlark-bell-gardenWe were able to sneak away for a few minutes to take some sunset photos.  You can’t tell it from the photos, but it was absolutely freezing!rustic-cabin-wedding-photographynorthern-virginia-wedding-korean-bell-gardenmeadowlark-garden-weddings
