If you have never been to Falling Springs near Covington, Virginia in the Fall it is a must visit!

We decided to shoot Alicia’s portrait session at Falling Springs because the location combines easy access, beautiful Fall colors, and a stunning waterfall.

The day started out a little stressful, but after Alicia had her makeup done at MAC we headed off for the drive down to Falling Springs.  Especially this time of year the drive down to Covington is beautiful!

Alicia chose this gold sequin dress by Badgley Mischka from Rent the Runway and it looked amazing against the backdrop of the waterfall.

This dramatic outdoor portrait session at Falling Springs was one of the silent auction items for my birthday sessions in 2015.  I will be offering some limited edition sessions again this year for my birthday in April so if you would like to be kept up to date be sure to sign up for my email list HERE.
Falling Springs is in a valley just off of the road and when the sun goes down at the end of the valley you get a really interesting mix of golden light from the setting sun and shadowy blue light from the gathering twilight.
