While I was travelling this month I had the pleasure to be a guest at CrossFit Max Effort in Las Vegas. Everyone there was really nice and friendly and the gym itself is huge and very well equipped. Lindsay, one of the owners of the gym, was kind enough to let me photograph her for the series while I was in town. If I visit Vegas again next year I will be sure to visit again!
Meet Lindsay.
My favorite thing about Crossfit is how doing something physically difficult transcends into a tough mental capacity…. Which then transcends into each aspect of your life 🙂
My favorite lifts or movements are Olympic lifts, handstand push-ups, and anything that I suck at because those are the things that are the most rewarding when it finally clicks.
When I think of CrossFit I think of: Community, sweat, tears, joy, competition
The CrossFit accomplishment that I most proud of is the Regionals 2012 team WOD… the buddy carry. Hilarious to me… Felt like a parasite on my partners back. Love buddy carries!
My favorite named WOD is Holleyman.
“Holleyman”
30 rounds for time of:
5 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball
3 Handstand push-ups
225 pound Power clean, 1 rep
U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Aaron N. Holleyman, 27, of Glasgow, Montana, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, based in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, was killed on August 30, 2004, when his military vehicle hit an improvised explosive device in Khutayiah, Iraq. He is survived by his daughters Shelby and Erin, son Zachary, parents Ross and Glenda, and siblings Kelly and Daniel.
See the series from the beginning… I am CrossFit – Jamie.
