My favorite thing about CrossFit is the scaling.
At almost 49, I am one of the oldest at the gym, and probably 99% of the time, the oldest in class. I love that I can work out next to folks who are my oldest daughter’s age and have them challenge me and push me to work harder. This past summer I worked out with some of my youngest daughter’s classmates, so they are getting younger (smile).
I love that I can be in class with an elite athlete or someone working out for the first time and we do the same exercise to our best ability.
My two favorite lifts are the bench press and pull-ups.
When I think of CrossFit I think of: Intense, Challenging, Encouraging, Strong, Inclusive
The thing that I am most proud of is doing a weighted pull-up (30lbs). This is exciting given the fact that my first CrossFit goal was to be able to even do a pull-up after having to do jumping pull-ups with the thickest band when I started.
I still don’t know the names of the WODs but I like the one where you run a 400 and do pull-ups.
