I love when my friends get married! I was so excited when I heard that Zeb and Brittany were finally getting married and even MORE excited when they asked me to photograph their Gunnison Colorado destination wedding.
I have been to Colorado a few times – Denver, Estes Park, Colorado Springs – but I had never been to Gunnison. Zeb had extolled it’s virtues to us and I have to say, it was pretty great. I’m not sure I’d want to live there in the winter when it’s -30 degrees (though Zeb and Brittany are still trying to talk us into visiting in winter to go ice climbing).
Gunnison is home to Western Colorado University and situated along the Gunnison River, which we took advantage of to go on a float trip after the wedding – wedding dress and all!
It is fitting since Zeb proposed to Brittany half way through a raft trip down Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Thankfully, Brittany was more than happy to say yes and saved them from a very awkward second half of the trip.
Zeb and Brittany’s Gunnison Colorado destination wedding marks the second that I photographed in Colorado (definitely not complaining!). Brittany was able to capitalize on the natural beauty of Zeb’s family ranch for a simple, laid-back affair full of some of the greatest people you will ever meet. Gunnison is a small town and you could tell everywhere you went that Zeb and Brittany were well loved. So many friends and family pitched in to help set up and prepare the event.
While the jury is still out as far as the ice climbing is concerned, I can say without reservation that this wedding will be one of my favorites in recent memory.
Congratulations Zeb and Brittany. I wish you all the love in the world and can’t wait to visit you again soon and go on more adventures.
