A Game of Thrones Styled Wedding Photography Shoot {Leesburg Wedding Photographer}

The Game of Thrones styled wedding shoot that I planned back in February got so much attention and was featured so many times online (including the Huffington Post and Yahoo Shine!) that I totally forgot to feature it on my own blog for all of you!

There are so many things that I love about this shoot.  First of all, that Lazaro dress from Jeanette’s Bride N’ Boutique? TO. DIE. FOR.  Carolyn Thombs of Lipstick and Chiffon captured the exact look we wanted for hair and make-up (no small feat since it was 10 degrees with gusting winds).  Maribel from Eight Tree Street always amazes me with her creativity and this amazing driftwood centerpiece is no exception. I absolutely couldn’t have done this shoot without Katie Rose, LLC. Who else would stand in the freezing cold for hours with me making sure that every little things was just right?  I love you all so much.

When Geeks Wed did such a great write up of the shoot that I am sharing it below:

“In the wake of the Red Wedding, take a look back at one of the show’s favorite couples Robb Stark and Talisa Maegyr and the rivalry between the Houses Stark and Lannister in this beautiful Game of Thrones inspired bridal shoot.

Gold, red and grey sets the tone for this rustic shoot shot by Mollie Tobias Photography recreating happier times for Westeros’ ill-fated couple. “The color scheme revolves around the House Crests~ the Gold Lion of Lannister, Red Dragon of Targaryen, and Gray Direwolf of Stark. We used the Deer Head for Bartheon. The chess set, made from cold yet unbreakable marble, symbolizes the movements and strategies of the multiple characters and houses,” explains Mollie the Virginia based photographer.

A medieval feast is set for the bride ad groom achieved with rich styling, delicious food and beautiful centerpieces. “We created an opulent table setting to contrast with the rustic and crumbling scenery. Building a centerpiece through a grape wood branch provided an organic element and asymmetry to the table,” says Mollie, “merging the luxuriousness of Court with the rural starkness of the North Wall.” Wrapped in a fur, the bride embodies her Queen of the North title wearing an elegant gold lace Lazaro wedding dress with beaded necklace. Natural elements of feathers and leather play on the medieval theme complimented by dark, red flowers in the bride’s bouquet and the groom’s boutonnière by EightTreeStreet.”
